Flea & tick treatment in Cairns, home and yard.

Fleas and paralysis ticks are a year-round tropical problem and a danger to pets. We treat the whole environment, indoors and out, to break the lifecycle, not just the adults you can see. Backed by our 6-month complimentary service period.

How do I get rid of fleas in the house and yard?

In short: you treat the environment, not just the pet. Up to 95% of a flea population is eggs, larvae and pupae in carpet, bedding and soil, so we apply an internal residual plus a yard treatment to break the lifecycle, and time it with your vet’s pet treatment. Paralysis ticks are a serious local pet risk, so we treat shaded harbourage too.

Spot the problem early

Six signs of fleas or ticks.

Fleas and ticks build up fast in the tropics. If you notice any of these around a Cairns home with pets, it is time to treat.

Constant scratching

Pets scratching, biting or licking constantly, especially around the tail, belly and legs.

Flea dirt

Tiny black specks like ground pepper in your pet’s fur, its bedding or along the skirtings.

Bites around your ankles

Itchy little bites around your own ankles and lower legs, a classic sign of a flea infestation indoors.

Ticks after the yard

Ticks found on pets after time in the garden, particularly around the head, neck and ears.

Larvae in the carpet

Tiny larvae and eggs hidden deep in carpet, rugs and the gaps along skirting boards.

A suddenly wobbly pet

Weakness, wobbliness or laboured breathing in a pet can mean a paralysis tick. See a vet immediately.

Seeing any of these? Book a flea & tick treatment, and see your vet straight away if a pet seems unwell.

Know the problem

The fleas & ticks that plague Cairns pets.

Beating fleas and ticks means understanding the lifecycle. The adults on your pet are only a small fraction of the problem, the rest is hidden in your home and yard. We treat the whole environment so it does not simply bounce back.

Because the tropics never cool down, fleas and ticks stay active all year, and paralysis ticks make this a genuine pet-health issue, not just a nuisance.

Cat & dog flea
The common biter

The everyday culprit. Bites pets and people, breeds explosively in carpet and bedding, and the adults are the smallest part of the problem.

Paralysis tick
Dangerous to pets

The serious one. Common in coastal scrub and shaded gardens, its toxin can paralyse and kill pets. A genuine emergency.

Brown dog tick
Infests kennels & homes

Unlike most ticks, this one happily breeds indoors, infesting kennels, yards and homes in large numbers.

Lifecycle stages
Egg, larva, pupa, adult

The reason a one-off spray fails. Eggs and pupae survive in carpet and soil and keep hatching, which is why we break the whole cycle.

What you get

A whole-environment treatment, not a quick spray.

We treat indoors and out and time it to break the lifecycle. Here is exactly what your flea and tick service covers.

Internal residual treatment

A residual applied to carpet, rugs, skirtings and pet-resting areas where eggs, larvae and pupae hide.

External yard treatment

Treatment of shaded garden, sub-floor and pet runs outside, where fleas and paralysis ticks harbour.

Pet-area & bedding focus

Special attention to kennels, beds and the spots your pets sleep, where flea numbers are always highest.

Lifecycle-breaking timing

Advice on timing the treatment, and any follow-up, to catch the next wave as the eggs and pupae hatch.

Re-treat guidance

Clear guidance on when a second visit helps and how to keep numbers down alongside your vet’s pet treatment.

Safe re-entry briefing

A clear briefing on re-entry times and how to keep pets and kids comfortable while the treatment settles.

How it works

From first call to flea-free, in four steps.

No jargon, no pressure. You will know exactly what is happening and what it costs before we lift a finger.

Step 01
Inspection

A licensed technician checks the home and yard, confirms it is fleas or ticks and finds where they are breeding.

Step 02
Tailored plan

We recommend the right internal and external treatment, time it with your vet’s pet plan, and send a fixed quote.

Step 03
Treatment

We treat indoors and out with family-safe products, focusing on carpets, bedding, pet areas and the yard.

Step 04
Protection

Your 6-month complimentary service period kicks in, with advice on follow-up timing to catch the next hatch.

Flea & tick questions

Straight answers on fleas & ticks.

The questions Cairns pet owners ask us most. Worried about your pet? Always see your vet for the animal itself.

Ask us anything
Why treat the house, not just my pet?
Because up to 95% of a flea population is eggs, larvae and pupae living in carpet, bedding and soil, not adults on your pet. Treating only the animal leaves all of those to keep hatching, so the problem comes straight back unless we treat the environment too.
Is the treatment safe for my pets?
Yes. We use registered, low-toxicity products and brief you on a short re-entry and drying time. We do not treat your pet directly, that is your vet’s job, we treat the home and yard around them.
What do I do with the dog during treatment?
Keep pets off the treated areas until they are dry, usually a couple of hours, and we will tell you exactly how long on the day. It is the perfect time to combine our visit with your vet’s flea and tick treatment for the pet.
Do you treat for paralysis ticks?
Yes. We treat the shaded, leafy harbourage in the yard where paralysis and brown dog ticks shelter. Paralysis ticks are dangerous, so always keep your pet’s vet-prescribed tick prevention up to date as well.
How many treatments will I need?
Many homes are sorted with a single thorough internal and external treatment. For heavy infestations a follow-up a couple of weeks later catches the eggs and pupae as they hatch. We will advise honestly based on what we find.
When should I time it with the vet?
Ideally treat your pet and your home and yard around the same time. That hits the adults on the animal and the lifecycle stages in the environment together, which is what actually breaks the cycle for good.
